Analysts’ Stock Ranking

Reuters uses a common set of labels for each rank, starting with

(1) Buy,

(2) Outperform,

(3) Hold,

(4) Underperform, and finally

(5) Sell.

As of early 2003, it appears that the five-part scale is giving way to a three-part scale simplified to:

Buy, Hold, and Sell.
