Business Links
As you most likely already know, some of the best starting points for finding information, media and texts are (of course) wikipedia and google.
For the exam I often look for listening texts from:
- The Economist - online video and audio -Look for recordings related to business, finance and economics (in the "by subject" tab).
- Cato's
daily podcast archive -Look for recordings related to business.
- PBS
(Public Broadcasting Service) business & economy archives
- Podcasts (mostly) of BBC business programs, such as Business Daily, Global Business, World Business News, Business Weekly, Bottomline, or Wake up to Money. Also interesting is Aftershock, a special report on the world's financial crisis.
- Yahoo! Finance Videos.
For those of you interested in business and economics, I would reccomend listening to some of the recordings offered by Misses Media. The concepts offered are at the same time simple and sophisticated.
If you can understand Sean Corrigan, then your business English should be at a fairly high level. One interesting talk given by him is titled How Recessions Become Depressions. A transcript of this lecture is can be found here.
